After 3 months, to our great disappointment, only part of the 25 doghouses ordered to a company of Pitesti arrived in Glina though they have been readily paid by us on 3rd November last as per attached money transfer. It is useless to confirm the unreliability we met many times on the spot as well as the constant difficulty in interacting with the local population.

In order to safeguard the work of Lamento Rumeno Onlus and, in particular, to safeguard all the material collected and donated by our sponsors delivered to the place, we have to ask for photo support to confirm that the goods have been truly delivered at destination. Here below we report what we received from Bucharest, to confirm the donations sent in the last quarter.

For 2009, considering the discouraging results we reached after a whole year of never-ending work, with huge sacrifices from our side to support the shelter in Glina, considering the aquisition of other sponsors from the Nature Association during 2007, we thought it proper to revise the criteria of our partnership and we mean to proceed as follows:

The kennel of Popesti managed by Nature Foundation, will receive 1.000 kg of food per month (bought on the place by means of a local supplier), as already agreed upon with the agreement signed last year. To support this initiative will be used the funds collected by Lamento Rumeno Onlus by means of sponsorship.
Those who want it, can still support the dogs housed in the shelter of Popesti; the monthly sum is equal to 8 euros.

The kennel of Glina will receive food and veterinary materials on the basis of the donations collected until a more functional operation programme will be outlined by the local association.
For a more trasparent and ethically correct management, considering that the animals need food and medical care, all those who wish to support the dogs of Glina are invited to donate food and medical stuff sending the material to our office as usual.
Lamento Rumeno Onlus DOES NOT collect funds.
We will continue to send regularly the material collected. The donation of money to the dogs of Glina from subscribers will be used to buy food and medical supplies in Italy which will be sent to the place.

Already since the second four-month period of 2008 we chose to use donations to buy food in Italy,
Medical material and supplies that have been sent to Romania, avoiding any further transfer of money (with the exception of the monthly transfer to the local food supplier).
For the sake of information, and only to avoid the distressing exploiting of animals sufferings which occurs quite often unfortunately, we think it proper to report the sponsonships of Italian sponsors by means of Lamento Rumeno Onlus, from the start of the project in Romania up to date.
In the case of our partnership with local associations, we recommend a higher degree of transparency counting on their proper behaviour in managing the funds received.
